Antonín Panenka is a Czech former professional footballer celebrated for his innovative penalty-taking technique. As an attacking midfielder, he spent the majority of his career playing for Bohemians Prague. His legacy is cemented by his winning penalty kick in the Euro 1976 final against West Germany, a softly-chipped ball down the middle of the goal that has since become known as a "Panenka". In 1980, he was named Czechoslovak Footballer of the Year.
