Jeezy, born Jay Wayne Jenkins, is an American rapper credited with pioneering the hip-hop subgenre trap music. Along with fellow Georgia-based rappers T.I. and Gucci Mane, he brought trap music to mainstream audiences. Jeezy began his career independently before signing with Def Jam Recordings. His major label debut, Let's Get It: Thug Motivation 101, peaked at number two on the Billboard 200 and was certified double platinum.
