Kamla Persad-Bissessar is a Trinidadian lawyer, politician, and educator. She has served twice as the Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago, from 2010 to 2015 and again from May 2025. She has also been the Political Leader of the United National Congress since 2010. Persad-Bissessar has served as the Leader of the Opposition three times. She holds the distinction of being the second prime minister to serve non-consecutive terms, after Patrick Manning.
