Marek Edelman was a Polish political and social activist, as well as a cardiologist. As a Jewish resistance fighter, he was the last surviving leader of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising, a courageous act of defiance against Nazi oppression. After the war, Edelman remained in Poland and worked as a cardiologist, dedicating his life to helping others and preserving the memory of the Holocaust.
