Momir Bulatović was a significant Yugoslav and Montenegrin politician who played a key role in the region's history. He served as the first president of the Republic of Montenegro from 1990 to 1998. Following this, he became the Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia from 1998 until 2000, during a period of significant political upheaval including the overthrow of Slobodan Milošević. Bulatović was also a leader of the Democratic Party of Socialists of Montenegro before a split with Milo Đukanović.
