He has served as the leader of the Democrats 66 (D66) and as a member of the House of Representatives since 2023. Jetten previously served in the fourth Rutte cabinet as Minister for Climate and Energy Policy from 2022 to 2024 and as First Deputy Prime Minister of the Netherlands in 2024.
