Bob Geldof, born Robert Frederick Zenon Geldof, is an Irish singer-songwriter and political activist. He gained fame as the lead singer of the Irish rock band the Boomtown Rats in the late 1970s. The band became popular during the punk rock movement, achieving number one hits in the UK with songs such as "Rat Trap" and "I Don't Like Mondays." Geldof also starred as Pink in Pink Floyd's film Pink Floyd – The Wall.
