Essam Abdel-Aziz Sharaf is an Egyptian academic and politician. He briefly served as the 50th Prime Minister of Egypt from March to December 2011, following the Egyptian Revolution. Prior to his premiership, he was the minister of transportation from 2004 to 2005. His tenure as Prime Minister was during a turbulent period of transition in Egypt.
