Gyanendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev was the last King of Nepal. He had two reigns, the first from 1950 to 1951, and the second from 2001 to 2008. His second reign occurred after a tragedy in the royal family. Ultimately, the Kingdom of Nepal was abolished, and a republic was declared during his time as monarch.
