Mohamed Irfaan Ali is a Guyanese politician who has been serving as the tenth and current president of Guyana since 2020. As a member of the People's Progressive Party/Civic (PPP/C), he previously held the position of Minister of Housing and Water from 2009 to 2015. Ali is notable for being the first Muslim to hold the office of president in Guyana. He also stands as the second Muslim head of state in the Americas, following Noor Hassanali of Trinidad and Tobago.
