Mamata Banerjee is an Indian politician currently serving as the Chief Minister of West Bengal since 2011, and is the first woman to hold the office. She is also the current leader of the house of legislative assembly. She founded the All India Trinamool Congress in 1998 after separating from the Indian National Congress. Often referred to as Didi, she also distinguished herself as the first sitting Chief Minister of India to argue as a lawyer in the Supreme Court.
